Service Technician Apprentice

The desired candidate will be responsible for performing diesel machinery diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and pre-delivery work on farm machinery for customers, and internal units. Our customers demand and we deliver quality, professional service in an efficient manner. These activities may take place in the shop, or in the field. The service technician is responsible to be familiar with all the products sold by the dealership, and must be able to perform assigned work profitably, in a safe and professional manner.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Communicate machinery problems and resolutions to supervisor and/or customers. Confirm these findings with supervisor to appropriately determine whether to repair or replace the unit.
• Perform the duties and work as assigned by direct supervisor.
• Complete thorough documentation on all reports and forms required with work assignments.
• Diagnosis, repair and reconditioning of machine system and components.
• Repair or replace mechanical units, as required.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations for preforming work duties.
• Provide good customer service and respond to customer complaints in efficient and professional manner.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on machinery, as required.
• Maintain technical knowledge about all the products sold through our company.
• Participate in appropriate training opportunities, local and off- site provided by Case IH.
• Completion of competency assessments, as required.
• Present a positive and professional image of Stratford Farm Equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 or more years of relevant work experience is required
• Excellent mechanical aptitude
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer literacy
• Must be fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch language is an asset.
• Attention to detail and high level of initiative and ability to work independently, as required
• Must have G driver’s license to regularly and reliably commute to work as per schedule assigned by management
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines efficiently and cost-effectively
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
• Must be able to stand for extended periods, handle up to 50 lbs weight (if needed) and have safety minded work

Expected Wage

• $22-$30 per hour (to be negotiated)

Location of Work

• Work must be completed at physical location only, no option to work remotely. So, a person should be able to commute reliably or willing to relocate before starting the job.
